Blessed St. Paul
Thursdays, March 4, 18, 25
7:00 p.m.
Dr. David L. Bartlett
Paul was the most prolific writer in the New Testament, and his letters have shaped the life of the church from the first century until now. In this class we will try to understand the issues that he addressed in his own ministry and to see how his answers might (or might not) help inform our faith and practices today.
Trinity is very pleased to welcome Dr. Bartlett back to teach three Trinity Explores classes in March 2010. Dr. Bartlett is interested in the intersection of biblical studies and the life of the church, especially the church’s preaching ministry. His particular exegetical interests are in Mark, John, and the Pauline Epistles. This class will focus on St. Paul. Prior to coming to Columbia, Dr. Bartlett was Dean of Academic Affairs at Yale Divinity School and the Lantz Professor of Preaching and Communication. He also taught at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA, and at the University of Chicago. Dr. Bartlett has written, edited, and published numerous books and articles.
Trinity Explores! is supported by the membership of Trinity Presbyterian Church. A nominal fee of $20 is required for each course. (The class fee per couple is $30). Scholarships are available. For more information, contact Bede Campbell at 404.495.8428 or bcampbell@trinityatlanta.org.
