Legacies From the Old Testament (Hybrid)
November 20 @ 10:00 am - 10:50 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Sunday, repeating until December 11, 2022
So much of our Christian heritage–the call to justice and our response to justice and how we think about religion in the world are legacies of the Old Testament. This 5 week session will feature Rev. Dr. Joel LeMon, Associate Professor of Old Testament at Candler Theological Seminary at Emory on the prophetic tradition and Amos in particular as the lead-up to Bryan Stevenson’s lecture and our reflections on what next led by Rebekah LeMon. In addition, Bill Rothschild, attorney and frequent writer and speaker on religion, will discuss the emergence of Christianity from Judaism and, as a result, the internationalization of religion, Hebrew concepts and sin and the Christian contribution to Hannukah.
