If music is a force for good… we humans are carriers, bringing the past in song and sound to the present. In anticipation of our visit with Bryan Stevenson, we’ll travel back in time, listening and learning from American spirituals born to us in an era of slavery, gospel coming to fruition in the early 20th century, a choir of voices emerging during a time of Jim Crow and the Civil Rights Movement, onward into this 21st century with Freedom Songs of remembrance, lament, redemption, and hope passed down through the generations… storytelling, scripture, and the spoken word put to music.
