POSITION OVERVIEW
The Ministry Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt position at Trinity Presbyterian Church. This employee will be fully involved in supporting all components of faith formation and church programming for the members of Trinity. This employee will also work directly with the pastors in planning events and programming for the congregation as well as maintaining information in various databases.

Reports to: Associate Pastor for Mission and Engagement

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ministry Program Support

  • Maintain communication with visitors / new members.
  • Assist in management of all logistics related to church programming.
  • Assist Lay Leaders with clerical, administrative or communication support.
  • Attend meetings & program functions as necessary.
  • Assist pastors in administering emergency assistance.

Communications

  • Monitor and update ministries’ web presence.
  • Create and/or coordinate content for targeted ministry emails, social media, pulpit announcements, weekly bulletins, weekly e-newsletters, and other communications to congregation.
  • Create and maintain communication plan for visitors and new members.
  • Enter/update Zoom and in-person scheduling information for church programming and other congregational activities (as needed) into church calendar (eSpace).

Administrative Support

  • Create and manage financial reports/budget progress, check requests.
  • Prepare/distribute/file agendas, packets, minutes, and pertinent documents for meetings.
  • Monitor and report progress against ministry budgets.
  • Monitor, update and create reports from church database.
  • Meeting and event planning for ministry-related events.
  • Track and coordinate scheduling of meetings and events.

Other

  • Provide back-up support to administrative staff as needed.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Digital Media and A/V Specialist will be responsible for the coordination, editing, and production of livestreams and other broadcasts, the creation and distribution of podcast content, and overseeing the creation and use of original video content for worship, marketing, adult education, and other services and events at Trinity Presbyterian Church (“TPC”). The individual will support the audio/visual (“A/V”) needs of TPC’s staff and ministries and will be responsible for the safekeeping and effective use of TPC’s A/V equipment.

Workdays: Sunday-Thursday
Status: Full-time
Reports to: Director of Communications
Supervises: A/V technicians and volunteers

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Development/Strategy

  • Work closely with Director of Communications to implement digital and video facets of communications strategy.
  • Collaborate with clergy to ensure excellence in livestreaming of Sunday morning and other worship services, including memorial services and weddings.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise paid staff and volunteers who assist with all production elements of livestreaming and recording video.
  • Train staff and member leaders on use of A/V equipment.
  • Assist staff and church members with technology set-up and use for classes, meetings, and other events.
  • Assist church members in using TPC technology in order to access worship, both in person and remotely, with particular focus on hearing technology.

Content Creation and Editing

  • Direct/produce livestream; oversee camera and sound work, as well as post-production needs.
  • Create slides for informal worship and worship broadcasts.
  • Edit recordings of worship, classes, and other events for effective posting.
  • Create (or oversee the creation of) original video content to support communications strategy.
  • Create podcasts from recorded content.
  • Assist with other digital media as directed.
  • Oversee labeling, storage, archiving, and SEO of recorded content.

Administration

  • Maintain metrics on all digital media platforms and report use/attendance.
  • Develop and administer an A/V needs calendar; communicate with all staff members and ministry leaders to ensure coordination of needs and use of equipment.
  • Oversee proper use, care, and storage of A/V equipment.
  • Track and ensure compliance with any media-related licenses.
  • Attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus 1-3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Intermediate, or greater, understanding of videography concepts like framing, lighting, backgrounds, composition, camera placement, zooming, panning, when to use manual focus/auto focus, white balance, frame rate, ISO, and color balancing.
  • Fundamental understanding of sound physics audio signal processing, different types of microphones and their optimal placement, channel gain/EQ/compression/gates, and live and recorded sound mixing.
  • Video creation and editing experience using pro-level editing software; audio mixing experience and proficiency with related software and equipment.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiers Pro and/or Final Cut Pro, PowerPoint, Adobe Auditions, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, and/or Logic Pro, Pro Presenter, Resi, Listen Everywhere (BYOD), BrightSigns, BrightAuthor, Zoom, and the integration of software platforms.
  • Experience with video data storage, archiving, labeling, and SEO.
  • Creativity, vision, attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Readiness to learn, initiative in seeking best practices in digital media and video.
  • Positivity, personal desire for excellence in work, discipline and diligence in completing required tasks, and commitment to work as part of a ministry team.
  • Flexibility in hours and ability to work Sunday mornings.
  • Familiarity with livestreaming worship and the PC(USA) a plus.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Communications will create, organize, plan, and implement effective communications and strategies for/with church and community audiences. The individual will support church and ministry leaders in conveying vision and information in a timely and effective manner.

Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Supervises: Digital Media Specialist, IT Support Vendor
Location: Primarily on-site, with some hybrid work hours available

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Development/Strategy

  • Work closely with Senior Pastor and Communications Council to develop comprehensive communications strategy for Trinity Presbyterian Church and all its ministry areas.
  • Collaborate with church and ministry leaders to define, develop, and effectively communicate messages to church and external audiences.
  • Work with church and ministry leaders to develop communications processes, define priorities, and create messages for use in various media for various audiences.
  • Provide annual media training sessions to administrative staff (e.g., email platforms, website, CMS, etc.) to enhance skills needed to do their work.
  • Be responsive to member/ministry needs, including providing advice to groups/committees/ministries on the use of communications and planning for communications.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise communications volunteers.
  • Supervise the work of the Digital Media Specialist and ensure that broadcast, livestream, and video content are utilized effectively as part of the communications strategy.
  • Assist church members in using TPC technology in order to access worship, both in person and remotely, with particular focus on hearing technology.

Design & Brand Management

  • Oversee the use and integrity of the church’s brand.
  • Lead efforts to design all art and promotional materials related to church-wide activities with a high standard of creativity, excellence, and effectiveness.
  • Monitor the look, vibe, and feel of all promotional materials representing TPC.
  • Collaborate on proofing and quality assurance, adhere to brand standards.
  • Edit marketing materials and newsletters to ensure that brand standards, grammar, and style guidelines are maintained.
  • Police the use of logos and images that represent TPC.

Print Media

  • Direct and manage the creation, production, and distribution of print materials (including, but not limited to, brochures, postcards, worship bulletins, catalogs, posters, seasonal guides, annual report, and quarterly newsletter).
  • Edit published materials to ensure that they conform to a high standard of grammar and presentation.
  • Develop and/or oversee the preparation and distribution of news releases to secular, denominational, and interfaith media.

Digital Communication & Social Media

  • Manage effective social media messaging and communication strategies for social media channels.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and updates of the church website.
  • Create and distribute a weekly congregational e-newsletter and other email communications.
  • Oversee use of and content for digital monitors across TPC campus.
  • Supervise Digital Media Specialist.
  • Drive creation of original video content and podcasts; oversee effective use of video, worship recordings, and other digital media.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus five years experience, including demonstrated experience in communications strategy, content creation, website management, graphic design, and media relations.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with database management is a plus.
  • Creativity, vision, organization and ability to manage multiple projects. Readiness to learn, initiative in seeking best practices in communications.
  • Positivity, personal desire for excellence in work, discipline and diligence in completing required tasks, and commitment to work as part of a ministry team.
